Literacy centers provide multiple opportunities for students to read, write, participate in meaningful experiences, and collaborate with others so that they can develop their ability to read and comprehend text. By having students work independently in literacy centers, it makes it possible for teachers to conduct small group reading and/or individual conferencing.
